FADAA Continuing Education Units (CEU) and Statement of Credits

Policy & Procedures

FADAA strives to provide Behavioral Health professionals quality training opportunities to support their efforts to prevent and treat substance use and mental health disorders as well as support individuals in recovery. To this end,

  • Training topics are planned in response to the identified needs of a target audience,
  • A concise written statement that includes a description and learning objectives for the event is developed and maintained,
  • Qualified instructional personnel and/or subject matter experts are involved in planning and conducting the training event, and
  • The qualifications of the instructional training personnel are kept on file.

A Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is equivalent to 60 minutes of instructional content. FADAA can provide continuing education credits for:

  • Florida Certification Board Recognized Education Provider #A-001
  • Florida Board of Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling Provider #50-676
  • Florida Board of Nursing Provider #50-676An individual may be eligible to receive CEU and Statement of Credits if they:
  • Register using the email address listed in your FADAA Account.
  • Attend and be engaged a minimum of 90 percent of the event length.
  • Complete the survey within the time window announced during the event.

Administrative Issues

  1. FADAA only investigates inquiries concerning Continuing Education Units (CEU) and Statement of Credits issues related to training events that occurred within 45 days of the training.
  2. FADAA does not issue partial credit for individuals that only attended a portion of a training event.
  3. FADAA is only permitted to issue CEUs or Statements of Credit in half hour increments.
  4. Individuals interested in receiving CEUs or Statements of Credit must be individually registered and must attend the training event using their personal credentials.
  5. Evaluations for online training events will close 72-hours after the event ends. Weekend and holidays are not included in the 72-hour window.
  6. FADAA is not responsible of maintaining individual CEU or attendance records.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How long does it take to receive CE’s and/or Statements of Credit?
    A: A Statement of Credit will be generated within CE Broker and your FADAA account within 30 business days following the event.
  2. How do I access my Statement of Credit?
    A: To access your Statement of Credit:
    log into your FADAA account,
    click on “Manage Profile” within the light blue colored box in the top right of the page,
    click on Professional Development under the green colored header Content & Features section. This is where the Journal Entries are stored.
    The direct link is: https://www.fadaa.org/members/certifications.aspxNote: FADAA uses email addresses as the unique identifier. A statement of credit will be issued based on the email address that met the criteria.
  3. I attended a webinar but did not receive the survey link?
    A: Please send an email to us through the FADAA portal with in 48 hours of the event and we will provide you with a link.
  4. I completed the survey but have not received CEUs.
    A: Please note we post CEU’s within 30 business days of the event. If it has been more than 30 days, please make sure you took the survey for the event in question. After verifying you have taken the survey, please reach out to us via the FADAA contact portal.
    To find out if you completed the survey follow the steps below:log into your FADAA account,
    click on “Manage Profile” within the light blue colored box in the top right of the page,
    click on “Professional Development” under the green colored header Content & Features section. This is where the Journal Entries are stored.
  5. What if I used a different e-mail address to register for a webinar or workshop then what I have on file with FADAA?
    A: Because FADAA uses email addresses as the unique identifier to track attendance and survey responses, it is very important that you register for the training event using the same email address that is listed on your FADAA account. The email address links the different systems used for training, surveys and issuing CE Credits and Statements of Credit. Currently, we do not have a way to correct mismatched email addresses for you.
  6. What if my email address changes?
    A: If you need to update or change your email address, you can do so in your FADAA account:
    log into your FADAA account,
    click on “Manage Profile” within the light blue colored box in the top right of the page,
    click on Edit Bio under the green colored header Information & Settings section.
    This will take you to a screen where you can edit and confirm email address. If you are using your email address as your username, we recommend changing your username as well.The direct link is: https://www.fadaa.org/members/edit.aspNote: It is very important that you check the email address you have on file in Your Membership frequently and updated it as needed.
  7. What if the training event does not last for its scheduled timeframe?
    A: All of our events are marketed indicating that CEUs are available up a pre-prescribed amount, for example, webinars are typically advertised indicating
    “Up to 2 Continuing Education Units/Contact Hours are approved…”In the event a training event does not last the entirety of the planned time FADAA will issue CE credits and Statements of Credit based on actual lengths of the training event in half hour increments.For example: A webinar is scheduled from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. The actual event ends at 11:30am. FADAA will only be permitted to issue 1.5 CE credits.
  8. What if I watched a Webinar/Workshop with a group of people, how do I receive CEs or Statement of Credit?
    A: FADAA uses web-based systems to track attendance and survey participants. As such, every individual that is interested in receiving CEs or Statements of Credits must register, attend, and complete the survey using their email address.
    If a group of people watches an event together, only the individual who registered for the event will be eligible for CE credits and Statements of Credit if they meet the requirements.
  9. Where can I view a past Webinar/Workshop?
    A: Recorded events will be posted and viewable within 30 business days on FADAA’s Resource Center together with any related training materials. To access the recording and training materials, go to https://www.fadaa.org/page/Training_Library
  10. What if I was unable to complete the survey? Can I still get CEs or Statements of Credit?
    A: CE credits and Statement of Credit are only issued to individuals that meet the requirements:
    Register using the email address listed in your FADAA Account.
    Attend and be engaged a minimum of 90 percent of the event length.
    Note: this is the absolute minimum attendance. Individuals that miss this minimum attendance do not meet the requirement regardless of the gap between the required minimum and the actual attendance.Complete the survey within the time window announced during the event.Individuals that do not meet these requirements are not eligible for CE credits and Statements of Credit.
  11. What if I watched a recoded webinar/workshop from the training library?
    A: We do not issue CE’s or Statements of Credit for watching past webinars or workshops.
