Vivitrol® Programs
About
The FADAA manages two programs that support the administration of extended-release injectable naltrexone (Vivitrol®) to treat individuals with alcohol and/or opioid abuse disorders. FADAA provides coordination for the program and training and technical assistance for enrolled providers.
Office of the State Courts Administrator (OSCA) Program
This program supports the administration of the medication to individuals involved in the criminal justice system, involved in court-ordered community-based substance abuse treatment programs, or at risk of becoming involved in the criminal justice system.
Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Program
This program supports the administration of the medication to adults 18 years of age or older who are eligible for publicly funded behavioral health services who have a primary diagnosis of alcohol use and/or opioid use disorder.
Vivitrol® Information
Extended-release naltrexone or Vivitrol® is an injectable intramuscular medication used in conjunction with psychosocial counseling/treatment to treat alcohol and opioid addiction.
